Our vision emphasizes the general theme of nutrition and metabolic health through the lifespan” with emphasis on mechanisms, prevention, and treatment modalities at each step of the lifespan (see Figure). Our collective research base is related to the metabolic impact of nutrition on health and diseases. During this fourth NORC 5-year cycle we plan to progressively develop research teams focusing on: Neuronal and molecular regulation of energy balance and metabolic health Physical activity and energy expenditure Nutrition and metabolic health These three research foci have led to the formation of Research Teams to address big research questions from the basic science level to clinical investigation and finally to the population in a translational way. In each of these teams, research will focus on the mechanisms involved in health and disease, the study of treatment interventions and the implementation of preventive strategies. As a Clinical Center of the Nutrition for Precision Health powered by All of Us, our Institution is using a lot of the NORC infrastructure to design and conduct this landmark study.
